Sewing Patterns, Style Inspiration & Creative Dressmaking
Hi everyone my name is Jayne and I’m the creator behind The Dressmakers Closet. Here you will find my sewing patterns, style inspiration with outfit ideas, and creative dressmaking.
Here at The Dressmakers Closet, I share weekly sewing style inspiration blogs, YouTube vlogs, and ‘sew with me’ style tutorials. I love to create outfits from my me-made wardrobe and share daily snippets and outfit inspiration on my Instagram page too.
At the beginning of 2021, I brought my designs to life and launched my very own small range of women’s ready-to-wear clothing. I am working on extending the range to add to the collection. All my designs are inspired by the nostalgic and muted fashions of yesteryear, but I have added my own modern-day twist.
I have also been busy bringing some of my designs into sewing patterns for you to enjoy and create. My latest and 6th sewing pattern is The Dixie Dress & Blouse, which is now available here.
My sewing patterns are all available for you to download in a handy PDF format with easy step-by-step instructions.
There is also full step-by-step video tutorials for every sewing pattern if you need visual assistance.

I am not ashamed to say that I love floral fabrics, and the majority of my handmade wardrobe is floral.
A Few Fun Facts About Me!
In my youth, I once got through to the semi-finals of Great Britain for disco dancing!
I married my husband John at 19, he is 20 years older than me, and we have been married for 37 years!
We have 3 children, identical twin boys, and a daughter.
I have 3 very spoilt and pampered cats, who I love more than my husband LOL! (not really but almost)
I am in my happiest place just pottering around my house and garden, but mostly my sewing studio is where you will probably find me!
I like to update my creative content on a weekly basis with blog posts, newsletters, and videos, where I hope to inspire other like-minded people to create a handmade and sustainable life.
Either way, I hope I have inspired you to go out and create for yourself. Make your own clothes, wear what you like and be confident in being you.
Thanks for stopping by.
